When Log is selected, gain reduction in dBs is computed based on the current signal value (i.e. for each sample). Gain reduction values are then smoothed out using the Attack-Release envelope. Using Log setting generally gives a perceptually smoother compression. - Additional envelope. Envelope’s attack and release times are not constant and are computed from the crest factor. ATTACK control sets the minimum attack time. RELEASE control sets the minimum release time. Various bugs were squashed. |
